Job Description

This position is responsible for investing client assets in a manner consistent with the asset allocation guidelines for each client objective, and implementing investment decisions on sector weights and specific security selections across client accounts.  In addition, this position is the primary source of investment information in client meetings, and works in cooperation with relationship managers and the Private Client Group in maintaining client relationships and supporting their business development efforts.

Manage portfolios in a manner consistent with the clients' investment objectives.  Implement the portfolio strategy decisions of the Trust Investment 
Department across client accounts to insure consistency of performance outcomes.

Maintain a thorough understanding of financial markets and the various types of securities, with a strong ability to communicate concepts to clients. 

Stay current on the Investment Department’s approved list of securities with an understanding of the underlying fundamentals and performance metrics of the company or mutual fund.

Perform fundamental equity research on assigned S&P 500 sectors that results in timely buy and sell recommendations.  

Meet with clients to review investment performance and provide them with information on performance attribution and portfolio strategy as needed.

Actively participate in the due diligence and manager selection process for mutual funds.

Support the Trust Department relationship managers and the Private Client Group in maintaining client relationships and supporting their business development efforts.

Support the Employee Benefits Group, as needed, in their client retention and business development efforts.

Participate in the preparation of reports for Trust Investment Committees.

Complete required quarterly and annual account reviews, as well as, write timely letters describing current market conditions and our investment recommendations.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or related field required.  MBA and/or CFA designation preferred.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing investment client relationships required.  

Experience with equity research in the healthcare and healthcare technology industry a plus.

Strong analytical skills

Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally with individuals and audiences of varying levels of knowledge on the subject of capital markets and investments.

Proficient in MS Word and Excel is required. Experience in using Bloomberg preferred. 

Travel may be required to various First American Bank and client locations.

Typical  hours are Monday – Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM. Additional hours may be required based on business needs.
