Job Description
This position is responsible for planning and design of enterprise IP LAN/WAN network infrastructure including routing and switching, wireless, and network security.   In addition, this role will be responsible for evaluating current network systems and participate in the identification, development and implementation of industry standards and security best practices.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design, develop, analyze, troubleshoot, and document computer networks (such as Juniper and Cisco Systems) and infrastructure.

Lead major network projects to support capacity growth, upgrades and new products/features, and integration.

Maintain in-depth up-to-date knowledge of standards, guidelines, industry trends, etc., for the Networking discipline, including LAN, WAN, Wireless, Data Center networking and interconnection. Lead the team in the implementation of these standards.

Perform scopes of work as detailed in implementation plans assigned (system builds, test plans, documentation, training).

Drive improvements in network process, efficiency and standardization.

Contribute to the development and analysis of network designs and protocols including prototyping and assessment.

Perform planning, engineering, forecasting and implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems of moderate complexity.

Evaluate current network systems. Recommend changes in maintenance and systems standards, and train support personnel on the conversion and implementation of the system.

Ensure compliance with change control processes and adherence to standards.

Participate in the diagnosis, isolation and resolution of network problems. Identify and document the root cause. Proactively identify potential issues in the production environment and help recommend potential solutions.

Work cross-functionally to accomplish assignments. Interact with internal and external peers and managers to exchange complex information related to areas of specialization.

May lead projects with small to moderately sized scope and teams.

May act as a consultant on special projects for multiple teams.

Provide coaching, guidance, and on-the-job training to more junior engineers.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent experience acceptable.  

Certifications consistent to support advanced IP networking, VOIP, and next generation firewalls. Certifications desirable: Network solution certifications, including Cisco CCNA or Juniper JNCIA track.
 
5 years of experience working in IT Infrastructure/Network environments, network design, planning, and implementing scalable, highly available, mission critical network infrastructures required.

Advanced knowledge and expertise in Juniper Networks, and Palo Alto Networks required.

Experience with a variety of routing protocols and IP Addressing required.

Experience with project management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives) required.

Experience implementing WIFI and VOIP QOS policies in complex environments required.
 
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, critical thinking and problem solving or troubleshooting skills.  

Ability to relay technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.

Ability to write technical documentation, strongly preferred. 

Must possess excellent time management skills.
 
Office 2016/Office 365, Packet decode / interpretation using Wireshark for VOIP and other IP based solutions required.

Ability to travel to branch locations as needed.

Typical Schedule is Monday thru Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Rotational Saturday work and off-hours on-call availability.
